Error: TF30275: Error while uploading file

I was involved recently in a TFS implementation for one of our clients where after succesfull installation and configuration of TFS/SharePoint they received an error message when creating a team site using the agile template.

The initial error was coming back as the connection to the SharePoint portal had failed and it could not complete the creation of the team project.  However after looking at the log file the first error which logged was “TF30275: Error while uploading file“.  In this instance the file is was complaining about was the document template stakeholder.xltx document.

After a lot of head scratching the error was finally narrowed down to an issue with the client’s NOD anti-virus application which was blocking this file from being uploaded to the SharePoint Server.  The following blog article explains the steps required to fix this issue with NOD.

Although this blog article refers specifically to the NOD anti-virus and firewall application, the same issue may be experienced with other firewalls and so it is worth checking the exclusion rules for your particular firewall if a similar issue occurs.

I also found a number of other exceptions in the log file which are related to this issue, these include:

The underlying connection was closed: A connection that was expected to be kept alive was closed by the server.

Unable to read data from the transport connection: An existing connection was forcibly closed by the remote host.

An existing connection was forcibly closed by the remote host
