SharePoint Designer 2007: Workflows with a ‘pause until’ step fail to resume

I  came across an interesting bug whilst I was working on a project for a client which included a simple workflow.  The workflow included a step which
would pause until a particular time before re-commencing.  However, once I had created and published the workflow I noticed that the workflow was
not restarting when it was supposed to.

After a lot of swearing I found a KB article with a link to a hotfix, which can be found here http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/en/details.aspx?FamilyID=6096ce0f-d21e-47ac-afe2-d4e1c2fce670&displaylang=en.

The steps I followed to get this working were:

  1. Deleted the published workflow
  2. Installed hotfix
  3. restarted the windows SharePoint timer service
  4. Published the workflow

Now the workflow ran as expected
